Sasha Allen who is an openly transgender transgender female singer who made it to the Live Shows of The Voice was a landmark in their first appearance. The first time within the 21 years of Vocal contests Sasha had made it beyond the Battle Rounds. They are the Newtown, Conn. duo are now part of the top 8 of the contest! Sasha revealed that he's transgender when the audition packet was presented during the Blind Auditions. According to Parade.com the decision was not a decision that was made in a hurry. "That was a really hard choice because it's exposing a personal and vulnerable aspect of yourself to millions and billions of people," said Sasha, who went through a transition while in high school. In the last week of fans week, witnessing the love and support of fans, their reactions as well as the ways they affected the other people was worth the effort. "We used to play it before The Voice was even a reality show in our lives. It was quite a surprise. We knew the song. already knew, it was one we already had ideas for arranging.
