Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine is a mercurial music producer and singer, who mixes Soul gospel Jazz and R&B in a signature mix. The singer has worked everywhere from Broadway up to the Democratic National Convention to the European scene of clubs and festivals. Sunshine Her real name is Denise White. Although she is based in Atlanta, her roots are situated in Chester Pennsylvania. There she first began to develop an interest in music, singing and playing the piano in a church. In Atlanta she was a student at Spellman College where her musical training began on the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The year 2005 saw Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for the stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy- and Tony Award winning vocalist who was part of the stage production Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007, approached her to serve as the choral leader for the production. Sunshine was the subject of national media attention due to her 4 performances a day during the Democratic National Convention in 2008. She was invited to perform at the inauguration of President Obama in 2009.
